4th April 2011 Round-Up

So what happened on this fine Monday? Glad you asked really, here's your round-up for today!

1. Wor Cheryl has been confirmed for US X Factor?

Apparently so. Confirmed judge L.A Reid (still no idea who he is) was quoted saying that he had no idea who the 4th judge was but he hoped they have a good connection with himself, Simon and Cheryl. Cat out the bag much? Let's ask this question though. Should Cheryl judge the American version of X Factor? I mean really. In my opinion, I don't think she should. First of all if she did, it would dampen my hopes of Girls Aloud getting back together at some point before 2012. Second of all, I'm not sure if the America population know who you are? And will they have the same reaction to you as we did, I highly doubt it. Just stick to the UK version Cheryl man. American readers! This question goes to you! Do you know who Cheryl Cole is? (don't use google)

2. The Vampire Diaries is back!

After another small break, one of my favourite TV Shows is back for it's final 6 episodes of the season and by the looks of things, their gonna be deadly! VD returns to UK screens on 12th April on ITV2! Exciting!

3. Kedollarsignha is touring the UK!

I love that skank but I hate her because she's not coming to where I live. Ke$ha has announced she will be touring the UK for the first time headlining. There's only a few dates which is quite shocking considering how big and well known she is. Confused. Anyway, here's the dates and where she's playing:
  • June 23 & 24 -Glastonbury Festival
  • July 3 - Birmingham Academy
  • July 9 - T in the Park Festival
  • July 11- Manchester Apollo
  • July 13 - London HMV Hammersmith Apollo
If your lucky enough to live near those places or happen to be going to those festivals, I have a strong dislike towards you, unless you take me with you of course. Then I'll be your best friend forever :)

4. Adele is a record breaker!

She's really going places isn't she? And don't we all know it. Adele has broke yet another record with her massive album 21. On Sunday it charted again at the top spot becoming the first album in 25 years to hold onto Number 1 for 10 consecutive weeks. Her debut album also sits on number 2 and is the second best selling album of 2011 so far, after of course 21. Impressive isn't even the word to describe her success.

5. Fancy some Glee news?

Well here's some amazing news. You might already know that a future episode (18 to be exact) will feature around Lady GaGa's smash song 'Born This Way'. Apparently the episode has so much stuff going on, it's been extended to 90 minutes! Brilliant. Executive producer Ian Brennan confirmed the extension after it was rumoured last week. He said that he is very excited because they have to cut down most episodes and throw away alot of good stuff, and now with this episode they get more screen time. I bet it's going to be amazing!

Cheryl Cole looking beautiful as ever in her new video The Flood. From her new album Messy Little Raindrops. Beautiful video to go with a beautiful vocal.

The X Factor - Gamu Nhengu releasing Christmas single

It's not over yet. I'm sure you remember Gamu Nhengu? The X Factor Finalist girl that Cheryl Cole didn't pick to be in her top 3 or wild-card and the nation rioted and sent death threats to our national sweetheart and generally went crazy? No? Really? That should remind you.

Anyways guess what? She's back and wants to kick The X Factor's ass! She's releasing a christmas song to battle the X Factor's winner's single for charity.

No seriously though, the song is for a charity called Aberlour, which helps disadvantaged children in Stirling. (Where is that?)

Speaking about the song Gamu said : "From the minute I heard the song, I loved it. This is the first time I have done anything like this, so I was really honoured when Mr Clifford asked me to record it."

Ablerlour said: "We have had a long association with Gamu, who has sung at our Christmas concert for the past three years. A small record company in Glasgow has taken the song on as a charitable project to release it in a small way because we can't spend a lot of money on the single. Gamu has always had an amazing talent. Even when she did our Christmas concerts, she stunned the audience with the power and emotion in her voice. We have always known she is a talented young person. The song is a good, strong one for Christmas. It is a festive song. The power and emotion of Gamu's voice shines through. We always knew she is a great talent."

The track 'Where Will You Sleeping This Christmas?' will be released on 13th December and you can check it out below!

The X Factor - Live Shows Week Seven: The Results

So it's time for the results show. Olly Murs gave a great performance of his new single and The X Factor finalists singing this years charity single was great too!

So in the bottom two thing was:
Cher Lloyd

Paije Richardson

Simon sent home Paije.
Cheryl sent home Paije.
Dannii sent home Cher.
Louis sent home Paije.

Yes, Paije has been booted out thank god! It's criminal that Wagner was not in the bottom two and got all excited about it. it was criminal that Cher was in the bottom two, but she played it smart and sang the song which she is most recognized for and the song in which I became a fan of her.

But we have The Wanted, Justin Bieber AND Nicole Scherzinger next week so that will be exciting!

What did you think of tonight's result?

The X Factor - Live Shows Week Seven

It was Beatles week on The X Factor and yet again it was a boring show except the fight between Cheryl and Simon over "stair-gate" as Dermot O'Leary embarrassingly called it and Cheryl and Wagner over Wagner's comments about her being "just a lucky girl from a council estate". Draaamaaa!

Anyway let's have a deeks at the performances:

Best:

Matt Cardle. Every song he sings, he makes beautiful. I don't know how he does it. I want him to win.

Hello Mary! It's been a while since you were here but your back! And you were brilliant. Keep it up!

Worst:

Oh my god. Get off you big creep. That is all I have to say on the matter.

So what did you think of The X Factor? I think were at the stage, who do you want win?

Make sure you watch the results show tonight and check back here for my thoughts afterwards!

The X Factor - Live Shows Week Six: The Results

So it's time for the results! First of all. I have to say. Why do the finalists mine during their group performances? They look so stupid. Especially Paije.

Anyway, JLS sang good, and then Westlife sang crap and then Take That sang amazing!

Back to results. In the bottom two were:

Katie Waissel
Aiden Grimshaw

I'm totally shocked Aiden is in the bottom two! How did Paije and Wagner get through? Christ.

Simon sent home Aiden.
Cheryl sent home Aiden.
Dannii sent home Katie.
Louis sent home Katie.

DEADLOCK.

Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear. How could this have happened. Aiden has been eliminated over Katie? This is so wrong.

What do you think about tonight's controversial elimination? (yet another one!)

Top of The Pops

14/10/10 - 21/11/10

1.(1)Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World)
2.(-)Take That - The Flood
3.(4)Katy Perry - Firework
4.(-)McFly - Party Girl
5.(3)Alexis Jordan - Happiness
6.(7)Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me
7.(2)Cheryl Cole - Promise This
8.(6)Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are
9.(19)Adele - Make You Feel My Love
10.(5)Cee Lo Green - F**k You

Rihanna was denied Take That their much anticipated number 1! I'm really surprised actually. It's a great song so I though it would have went top. Maybe the public actually want that chart battle with JLS and Westlife next week. McFly have landed at 4 with their come-back song 'Party Girl'. I really love it and it's done pretty well.

Another re-entry for Adele with 'Make You Feel My Love'. I don't even remember her releasing this the first time round!

Over in the album's chart, Britain's Got Talent Winner finalist Susan Boyle has stormed the chart with her second album.

The X Factor - A 5th Judge?

The producers of the show are reportedly planning on introducing a 5th judge.

Recently, Simon Cowell invited 20 fans of the show to a brian-storming session on how to improve the show.

The idea to introduce a guest 5th judge during the live shows was received well. The idea is to make the vote more clear-cut in the wake of Treyc Cohen's controversial elimination from the show last weekend.

If there's a 5th judge and one judge opts out of voting like Cheryl did at the weekend, then the vote would still go to Deadlock, but the problem is, if all the judges vote, it would never go to Deadlock, which is sometimes a better way of eliminating people from the competition.

According to an insider, one idea is to have whoever is performing on the show, be a guest judge during the vote.

It is unknown when the rumored change will come into affect.

So, what do you think of this? Would a 5th judge be a good idea?

The X Factor - Was It A Fix?

Nearly 15 million of us watched it and we all know what happened. Well, incase you don't, here's the crack-a-lack.

  • Katie and Treyc were in the bottom two.
  • Katie sang first, forgot her words, generally did bad and ended up saying "sod it" and sat on the floor until the music ended.
  • Treyc sang and was alright.
  • Simon voted to save Katie.
  • Cheryl refused to vote since they were both her acts.
  • Dannii voted to save Treyc.
  • Louis voted to save Katie.
  • Treyc was voted out of the competition.
Obviously there's been plenty of backlash and controversy. What is The X Factor without it right?

So I have a few questions!

  • Why did Simon vote for Katie? She clearly messed up the song and the judges are supposed to vote on that performance they've just seen, not anything else.
  • Why did Dermot O'Leary go to Cheryl straight after Simon? Whenever this has happened in the past and it has happened, they always went to the judge who has both acts in the bottom last! So why did they go to Cheryl straight after Simon? Why change the rules?
  • Cheryl refused to vote. Fair enough. I don't think I could do it either! BUT She did say leave me to the end and I'll take it to deadlock, which means it reverts back to public vote. Why didn't they do that? Why didn't they go back to Cheryl and take it deadlock, which she said she would?
  • Why did Louis vote for Katie? Same as Simon, she clearly messed up. Treyc sang better than her, surely he should have saved her?
I didn't like Treyc. I don't think many people did because she never connected with the audience. She's one of those acts when she's there but you don't remember her. Even when she was on stage, I asked "Who's that?" I feel it was unfair she was voted out under such bad circumstances but to be honest, I would rather have seen her go, over Katie. Katie has personality! She gives good performances too (sometimes) and she's memorable!

I want to know what you think about all this? Was it a fix to keep Katie in who gets more headlines than an other contestant? Or was it innocent? Should Cheryl have voted? Should they have gone to deadlock? Should Simon and Louis have voted for Katie?

The X Factor - Live Shows Week Five: The Results

Time for the results! After a decent performance from previous X Factor Shayne Ward and an amazing performance from legend, Kylie Minogue in the bottom two were:

Treyc Cohen
Katie Waisel

Bad times for Cheryl Cole.

So after Katie breaks down during her performance and "sods it" and Treyc drones on here's how the vote went:

Simon sent home Treyc.
Cheryl obviously refused to vote.
Dannii sent home Katie.
Louis sent home Treyc.

And with that Treyc was eliminated.

My predictions keep coming true. Now I only have 2 acts left that need to go, then it gets tough.

What did you think of tonight's dramatic results show? Controversy is brewing.

Top of The Pops

7/10/10 - 14/11/10

  1. (2)Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World)
  2. (1)Cheryl Cole - Promise This
  3. (-)Alexis Jordan - Happieness
  4. (6)Katy Perry - Firework
  5. (4)Cee Lo Green - F**k You
  6. (3)Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are
  7. (5)Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me
  8. (8)Nelly - Just A Dream
  9. (7)Duck Sauce - Barbara Streisand
  10. (22)The Saturdays - Higher (featuring Flo Rida)

So Rihanna got her Number 1 after her battle with Cheryl last week. Good for her! Sadly as you can see The Saturdays have only got to number 10. To me that's disappointing. Obviously not to them according to their Twitter but that is an amazing song which deserved higher! (I think I meant that pun)

Over in the albums chart, obviously Cheryl Cole has stormed to the top with the second album, Messy Little Raindrops. Also Peter Andre managed to get to number 10.

The X Factor - Live Shows Week Four: The Results

So it's time for the results and after a good performance from Bon Jovi and the contestants, a frosty performance from Jamiroquai because of his comments about Cheryl and Dannii and a great performance from Rihanna, in the sing off were:

Belle Amie

Katie Waisell

After both acts sang for their survival,

Simon sent home Katie.
Cheryl sent home Belle Amie.
Dannii sent home Bell Amie.
Louis sent home Katie.

Which brought us to our first deadlock of the series and they revert back to the public vote and the act with the lowest votes were:

Yes, Belle Amie were voted out of the competition in their 2nd time in the bottom 2. It was going to happen sooner or later. The sad thing is, they gave a great Judges House performance and then the live shows were just lackluster. Also the fact, girl-bands just don't do well on this show. Bye girls.

What did you think tonight's performances and results?

Top of The Pops

31/10/10 - 7/11/10

  1. (-)Cheryl Cole - Promise This
  2. (-)Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World)
  3. (1)Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are
  4. (4)Cee Lo Green - F**k You
  5. (6)Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me
  6. (5)Katy Perry - Firework
  7. (3)Duck Sauce - Barbara Streisand
  8. (11)Nelly - Just A Dream
  9. (2)The Wanted - Heart Vacancy
  10. (8)Tinie Tempah - Written In The Stars (Featuring Eric Turner)

Wor Chezza has stormed to the top of the charts obviously and scored herself the fastest selling single of 2010 so far! Rihanna scored second place in the chart battle. Meanwhile no other new entries for the top 10 other than Nelly.

Over in the album charts, Kings of Leon have denied Joe McElderry a number 1, which is a shame. He settled for 3rd.

The X Factor - Cheryl's Performance

That was bloody amazing! I literally had to stop and sit down and watch and not blink. Fantastic stuff. What do you think?
