The 2010-2011 TV Season - Medium Cancelled

Medium star Patricia Arquette has said her show has been cancelled.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the actress who has played physic consultant Allison DuBois for 7 seasons of the CBS show, said there was only 2 more episodes left to film and the 7th season will be it's last.

She went on to say: "I was trying to get information from the writers about the last episode," she said. "I don't know what it's going to be, but they're really excited about it. They're like, 'We're just going to burn the whole thing down!' I'm really excited. It's been a great time. I love that time in my life."

While CBS hasn't officially announced the show's cancellation, it's safe to say that if the show's main star is saying it's cancelled, then it has.

Medium originally aired on NBC from 2005-2009 but after the 5th season, the network decided not to renew the show, even though it outperformed some of the other renewed shows. Within 24 hours CBS renewed the series for a 22 episode season. After renewing the show for a 7th, 22-episode season, the order was reduced to 13 soon after.

  2. I absolutely loved this show up until I saw the real Allison on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" at a dinner party in Camille Grammer's home...needless to say the real person is not as a concerned individual as people's well being as the show makes her out to be!!! I was to say the least, disappointed!!! If you want to see it the episode is entitled the Dinner From Hell...and it really was mostly because of her aweful self!!!

  3. This is the only show I looked forward to watching every week and I am really upset that’s its not going to be on any more....I am so sick of all these dam reality shows...Medium was an awesome show so of course it had to be cancelled. If it’s not about sex, drugs, or people making complete idiots out of themselves it’s not worth keeping right? If it’s a decent show and you can sit as a family and watch it they cancel them GREAT JOB CBS… I don’t why I watch TV any more I should just cancel my cable and save some money!

  4. I WAS TOTALLY SHOCKED WHEN THE ANNONCER SAID "TUNE IN NEXT WEEK FOR THE MEDIUM SERIES FINALE" I HAVE DVD-R AND HAD TO REWIND TWICE TO MAKE SURE I HEARD CORRECTLY.... WHAT R U PEOPLE THINKING??? EVERYONE LOVES "MEDIUM" AND THE CHARACTERS HAVE BECOME LIKE PART OF THE FAMILY. IT'S BAD ENOUGH "HEROES" WAS CANCELLED AND AGAIN, I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT IT.
ALSO, THE WRITERS OF THE "MEDIUM" SERIES FINALE WROTE A RIDICULOUS ENDING. HAVING YEARS GO BY LIKE THE WIND AND STUPID, STUPID STORY LINE. NOTHING LIKE "MEDIUM" REALLY IS. I AND MANY, MANY OF MY FRIENDS WILL MISS THIS SHOW AND THE ACTORS!!!! WHAT R YOU GOING TO REPLACE "MEDIUM" WITH ANOTHER STUPID, IDIOTIC REALITY SHOW NO ONE CARES ABOUT!!!

  5. Glad to see it go to be honest with you. Watched the show with my wife on and off and watched the series fail over the last couple of seasons. Plot line felt thin and that they were reaching for things, much like the last few episodes of Jericho.

  8. Should I be surprised that a GREAT show was cancelled?! Probably not any more than I should be surprised that they'll replace it with some reality crap where someone dances, sings or behaves badly. Every channel I turn to has the same garbage on 24/7. If the TV Executives think I'll stay home and watch crap because that's the only choice...they guessed wrong! The only good thing that will come of this is that I'll turn the TV off and do something productive with my time. To the moron that made this call...Good luck with your ratings!
