- Katie and Treyc were in the bottom two.
- Katie sang first, forgot her words, generally did bad and ended up saying "sod it" and sat on the floor until the music ended.
- Treyc sang and was alright.
- Simon voted to save Katie.
- Cheryl refused to vote since they were both her acts.
- Dannii voted to save Treyc.
- Louis voted to save Katie.
- Treyc was voted out of the competition.
Obviously there's been plenty of backlash and controversy. What is The X Factor without it right?
So I have a few questions!
- Why did Simon vote for Katie? She clearly messed up the song and the judges are supposed to vote on that performance they've just seen, not anything else.
- Why did Dermot O'Leary go to Cheryl straight after Simon? Whenever this has happened in the past and it has happened, they always went to the judge who has both acts in the bottom last! So why did they go to Cheryl straight after Simon? Why change the rules?
- Cheryl refused to vote. Fair enough. I don't think I could do it either! BUT She did say leave me to the end and I'll take it to deadlock, which means it reverts back to public vote. Why didn't they do that? Why didn't they go back to Cheryl and take it deadlock, which she said she would?
- Why did Louis vote for Katie? Same as Simon, she clearly messed up. Treyc sang better than her, surely he should have saved her?
I didn't like Treyc. I don't think many people did because she never connected with the audience. She's one of those acts when she's there but you don't remember her. Even when she was on stage, I asked "Who's that?" I feel it was unfair she was voted out under such bad circumstances but to be honest, I would rather have seen her go, over Katie. Katie has personality! She gives good performances too (sometimes) and she's memorable!
I want to know what you think about all this? Was it a fix to keep Katie in who gets more headlines than an other contestant? Or was it innocent? Should Cheryl have voted? Should they have gone to deadlock? Should Simon and Louis have voted for Katie?
