In the New Year, lives will be lost in Emmerdale Village when a fire rips through several cottages!
Show bosses have confirmed two characters will die in the tragedy. Several character are in danger including long-standing Betty Eagleton, sisters Chas and Gennie Dingle, couple Brenda Walsh and Terry Woods and finally Vive Hope who recently announced she was leaving the soap after 18 years of service!
In a shock twist, in the aftermath of the fire and as the villagers mourn the dead, it comes to light this fire was no accident and they must deal with the fact that it was someone among them.
Speaking about the fire series producer Gavin Blyth said: "This is going to be one of the most dramatic and tragic events ever to rock Emmerdale and no-one will be untouched by the fire's devastating consequences. The whole village will be thrown together for these gripping and heart-wrenching episodes which will launch us into an unmissable 2011."
The arson plot will air in the middle of January.
So Britain's 4th and final big soap is having a fire. This means all 4 soaps have had a fire in the space of a year! Must be distracting us from the cold. I reckon this will be great viewing. Emmerdale has gone from strength to strength in recent years and is currently the best it's ever been probably. Adding this fire to that and with it being an arson plot to makes things alot more interesting.
So who's going to start the fire and who's going to die?
