Corrie's 50th - Thursday 8:00PM LIVE EPISODE Review

So, this is what we've all been waiting for. It's day 4 and it's the live episode to celebrate 50 years to the day of Coronation Street. There's been many doubts about this episode including the current bad weather the UK is suffering from, to actors fluffing their lines, to bad neighbours in the surrounding area to bomb threats! Luckily everything went according to plan. No screw ups just fantastic drama.

I should menion before I begin the review. This episode contained 27 cameras which is the most ever used in a live episode and it was also the first soap to use live CGI in an episode. The opening shot of the surrounding streets and viaduct was indeed created on computers and broadcast to the nation live! First time for everything.

So were we last left the residents of Corrie, more people had been saved inlcuding Baby Jack, Peter and Nick. Sadly, Ashley Peacock was not safed from The Joinery and was crushed under the rubble saving Nick and Peter.

In this episode: Claire was told about Ashley's death much to the shock of the other residents includin Grahame. Fizz had her baby girl! Kylie is back and revealed she's took Max and she wants more money from Steve and Becky. £5,000 to be exact, which Becky later steals from The Corner Shop safe. After Fizz gave birth she reveals Chesney has went back to the house. John rushes home before he can discover Charlotte's body in the house. John manages to get in the house, drag the body towards the rubble. He's about to walk away when a police officer discovers the body and announced there's a weak pluse. Charlotte is alive! Anna finds Gary in the house having hallucinations and flashbacks about his Army life. Meanwhile, Sally enters the Corner Shop to keep Molly's spirits up while the firemen try to free her. Molly knows she's dying and decides to tell Sally about her affair with Kevin and then reveals he is the father of Jack. A shocked Sally leaves Molly as she dies. We have our second confirmed death. Over at the hospital, a seriously injured Peter begs Leanne to marry him there and then as he thinks he won't make it. As soon as they say their vows and the priest announces them as husband and wife, Peter's heart stops and he flatlines.

For a live episode this was brilliant stuff! I'm so proud that nothing went wrong and nobody messed their lines up. The acting was superb, especailly Micky North who plays Gary Windas. He was brilliant! The mix between drama and humor was perfect. The production that has gone into it should aslo be praised because I can imagine the stresses and worries the crew and cast had, but they should be so proud of them selves because I and I'm sure plenty of other people enjoyed it immensley. I even had a bit cry at one point. Well done!

What did you think of the live episode?

14.03 million people watched this episode!
