It's been announced that Corrie will get it's first ever Chinese regular. The character will be called Xin and will move in with Grahame and friend Tina. She works at the local Chinese restaurant and will recognize a few of the street's residents by what they order at the restaurant. Apparently she has some dark secrets too. Interesting! Producers are hoping Xin becomes a popular character, so the rest of her family can be introduced.
In other news, relatively new character Kylie Turner, Becky's sister will be having a shock wedding in April with one of the streets residents! And that resident is David Platt! Looking forward to see how that plays out.
Apparently Tracey Barlow is to become a barmaid at the Rovers. Her return to the soap has not received a pleasant welcome by characters AND fans. I wish they'd just put her back in jail. It's unbelievable how she got out in the first place.
Finally! Big story for Sean Tully coming up! His ex-boyfriend Marcus, played by Charlie Condou is returning and they are having a Civil Partnership! A first in a British Soap. His return will be seen in March.
Let's put some rumors to rest shall we? There are no plans to make Glenda a surrogate mother for Christian and Syed, but surrogacy will be a factor in the storyline.
Christopher Parker is NOT making a return to the soap as Spencer Moon. (Thank God)
Finally, there's been alot of talk that the ending to the current baby swap storyline has already been filmed. I can confirm it hasn't and it will play out much longer.
Shame really because the viewers really seem to hate the storyline. The BBC has received over 3,400 complaints over the storyline. Cot death is a serious issue and it baffles everyone and it's awful when it happens, but a mother swapping her dead baby with a neighbours is completely ridiculous and unbelievable! What do you think about the storyline?
Check out these first photos of the upcoming fire that will kill 2 of Emmerdale's residents!
I wonder who will die? It's going to be a good week for Emmerdale. The fire scenes air next week.
In another news, Dominic Power has joined the cast of the rural soap. He previously stared in The Bill but he is now joining Emmerdale as Cameron Murray, who arrives in the village to see Debbie Dingle. Apparently they were an item when Debbie lived in Jersey (while the actress was on maturity leave). Drama ahead for these two. Expect to see him in March.
Christ, I would hate to live in Hollyoaks Village right now! So much death.
Looking forward to 2011, producer Paul Marquess had an interview with DigitalSpy and revealed several storylines. Rhys and Jackie are going to have an eventful 2011, the dark drama will continue with the two local baddies Warren and Brendan, there's comedy coming up for the McQueens, Cindy Cunningham is back to kick Tony in the balls and buy his new Spa of him, Brendan's abusive relationship with Ste will continue, a Live episode is a possibility for 2012, Amy Barnes is staying in the show and plenty more.
It was going to happen sooner or later. Harold Bishop is coming back to Ramsay Street! Last time we saw Jelly Belly, he was leaving the street after his cancer went into remission and he went to see Sky (who I still miss). Now, Ryan Moloney has revealed Harold will be back for a little bit in 2011.
Sad news now. Kym Valentine who plays Libby has checked herself into hospital for exhaustion. Kym is no stranger to health problems. In 2008, she was diagnosed with pneumonia, then suffered a collapsed lung on a flight from LA to Melbourne. And just 6 months ago, she was rushed to hospital having a blood clot in her lung. A statement from Channel Ten said Kym is returning to Neighbours as planned after the Christmas and New Year break. I hope she feels better!
Also Neighbours is returning to UK screens on Monday 10th January at the usual times.
