Spider-Man: The Musical Dramas!

I am so sick to death of seeing reports on Spider-Man: The Musical. It was a terrible idea to begin with and it just keeps getting worse and worse!

Okay so let's start with the details. Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark is a rock musical directed by Julie Taymor and with music by U2's Bono and The Edge. It is the most expensive broadway show in the history of broadway shows at a whopping $65 million. The show has been delayed many times, with the opening night now set as 7th February 2011 (it's most likely to change).

The amount of people that have been injured making this show is terrible! 2 stunt doubles were injured first during various flying sequences. One of them broke both their wrists, while the other broke his toe, but had also injured his foot a month before.

Actress Natalie Mendoza who was originally cast as villian, Arachne, suffered a concussion during the first preview performance when she was struck in the head by equipment in the wings. Mendoze left the show for 2 weeks. She soon left the show altogether.

Christopher Tierney fell more than 20 feet into the orchestra pit, during a preview performance on 20th December, when his cable detached for his harness. he was hospitalized and went into a coma. he was released on 29th December.

The show was met with criticism during the previews, yet ticket tales have shot through the roof selling over $1 million worth in a single day. Personally, I think the show should just be cancelled before anyone else gets hurt! It's a silly idea. What do you think? Would you go see it?
