Corrie's 50th - Friday 7:30PM and 8:30PM Review

So it's the beginning of the end to this tragic week and the drama from last night's live episode continues.
In this episode: Rita is finally discovered lying in The Kabin after Nick informed Norris that she wasn't in town and that she had gone back to her flat after her friend cancelled on her. She is taken to hospital but not before she delivers the best line of the week. "What is with me and trams?" I laughed so hard. Also, Peter's fight for his life is far from over. He survived his surgery but will he survive the night? I'm guessing no. John goes to the hospital with Charlotte. He is about to turn off her life support machine, but her parents come in. The doctors announce she is servely brain damaged and may never regain consciousness. They decide to turn off the life support machine. We have our third confirmed death. The residents continue to huddle together in The Rovers and the Cafe. Over at the Webster's, Sally confronts Kevin over Molly's final confession. A massive row happens and Kevin is thrown out the family home as Sally leaves him for the last time. Tyrone does still not know that his best friend Kevin is the father of Jack.

This week was dubbed "4 Funerals and a Wedding". So far we have had 3 deaths confirmed. Who will be the forth? Will there even be a forth death?

These two episodes were again brilliant. The whole week has been magnificant and the Corrie team should be so proud of themselves. This week will go down in TV history and it's not even over yet. The effects of the Tram crash will be felt right into the rest of this year and 2011 and probably forever. What will happen to the street's residents if they cannot go back to their homes? Who will leave the street for good? Will the Corner Shop and Kabin be rebuilt? What about the Joinery and the viaduct? When will the mourning and funerals take place? So many questions that will all be answered in the coming weeks and months.

Well done Coronation Street for giving the best week of soap I have ever seen, and Happy Birthday! Here's to 50 more years!

What did you think of these two episodes?
