Eastenders is to pay tribute to it's rival soap Coronation Street on it's 50th Anniversary!
On the 9th December, Corrie will air a live 1 hour episode, 50 years after the first episode was shown. One the same day, Eastenders will air too. Within the episode Kat Moon asks Dot Cotton if she will be attending the choir service that night. Her reply is "Oh no, not tonight. Tonight I'm going to open a bag of marshmallows, share them with Jim and watch Corrie! I love it! It's my favourite . I never miss it!"
A source from Eastenders told The Sun "We did it in a tribute to Corrie. We hope they would return the favour when we turn 50."
The episode will air immediately before the live episode on Thursday! This is amazing! Soaps should crossover more often! I think it would be better if they said something like "Did you hear about that Tram crash up in Weatherfield?" What are your thoughts?
