So today is the day when FIFA decided to would host the World Cup for 2018 and 2022. The ceremony was held at Zurich, Switzerland. FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter announced the winners today.
So apparently... We didn't get the FIFA 2018 world cup bid. We were out in the first round? Oh what a suprise? Not really.

In the line up we had; Russia, England, Spain & Portugal, Netherlands & Belgium.
And the winner: Russia!

Choosing a country without the facilities to actually host The World Cup. Is this really such a good idea?
I love football just as much as the next person but come on!
I'm sorry right, but in this 'world recession' what better to spend the money they do have building 14 stadiums.... building hotels.... an airport and new train lines! People apparently have to queue for hours for bead that's expensive? Nice to know people have their priorities in order.
Wouldn't it be better to give it to a country to have the right facilities to host The World Cup??
Apparently England only got 1 vote? The country where FIFA would make the most profit, didn't get it. Even in Spain & Portugal would have been a better choice, cause then you'd get a summer holiday too!

Turns out it is!....
Qatar borders Saudi Arabia and is near Omen and Yeman and Iraq and Iran...
This is another country who doesn't have the facilites to host this event.
Also in Qatar, it's an arabic country, so I don't think you can drink. I don't think you can you show flesh either. And what happens when someone has a vuvuzela?
Is this really a wise choice for our football celebrations?
But oh wells... We'll just have to wait and see if they both pull it off!
