First reported in NY Magazine, it was reported Favreau informed Marvel Studios that he will not return to Iron Man 3. He gave no reason apparently, but sources told the magazine that Favreau was frustrated with the studio's desire to include more characters from other comics in the next movie.
It was recently reported that Iron Man 3 would be a sequel or a continuation to Hulk, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers.
I can see his point because it is an Iron Man film, but it'll be for the greater good really. This is a huge thing they are trying to pull off. Create movies for the separate super heroes of the Marvel Universe and then bring them together for one film as a superhero team? It's massive and such a hard thing to get right.
So far in my opinion they've done a great job. Iron Man was a fantastic movie, Hulk was good and Iron Man 2 has good but had way to much going on.
