Well that didn't last very long. Channel Five boss Richard Desmond has axed the struggling magazine show Live From Studio Five.
It was first introduced in September 2009 but failed to impress critics or win huge ratings despite heavy promotion. The original hosts were Apprentice star Kate Walsh, Melinda Messenger who quit the show in May and ex-footballer Ian Wright who departed in August. Jayne Middlemiss and Emma Willis have been hosting since.
Replacing Live From Studio Five is the return of OK! TV. Desmond, who owns several newspapers and magazines as well as Channel Five is hoping the new teatime show will boost the ratings. OK! TV previously ran on ITV in 1999 and 2000 but was pulled after one run.
It is thought that this is part of the large rebranding of Channel Five following Desmond's takeover. It will start airing 14th February and its expected to be back by a huge campaign right across Desmond's newspapers.
