Soap Watch
Pooja Shah has revealed that she is keen to return to Corrie in the future. Shah was recently seen on the street playing DC Moore who was investigating the attack on Tracey Barlow which sadly did not kill her! She wasn't a good cop though. Claire Peacock who amazingly tried to kill Tracey got away right in front of her eyes. Silly.
Corrie bosses have announced that Ken and Deirdre Barlow are to take center stage in a special series of webisodes. The online only content will explore what goes on in the Barlow's bedroom. No you dirty minded person! Not like that. That would make anyone want to scratch their eyes out. No, it will show what takes place when they go to bed, including a spilt cup of tea, flicking street lights and snoring. I imagine this is going to be hilarious because they are one of my favourite soap couple's ever! Ken and Deridre's Bedtime Stories starts on 14th February exclusively on itv.com and will run for 10 weeks.
Bad times are ahead for Maria Connor it's been revealed. She is in danger of a sex-attack from newcomer Frank Foster while at his home. Frank is introduced this week as a new Underworld contact. Maria is tasked with charming him, so he'll make a big order after she starts working as Carla Connor's personal assistant. Frank will soon turn nasty after spending time alone with Maria. In the episode, Frank comes on strongly and makes his intentions clear. At the end it is expected to cut away from the scene to leave viewers wondering wether he will rape or not. Poor Maria. Girl's been through alot.
ITV has announced that it will honor Corrie actress Betty Driver in a new documentary. The Betty Driver Story will take a look at the 40 years she's been on the soap playing Betty Turpin, as well as her career as a singing and variety star. Driver is famed for her characters much loved hotpot and will discuss her 9 decades in the industry. Yes 9! She's 90 years old! Amazing woman. It will be narrated by Sir Ian Mckellen and airs on 1st February.
If your a Corrie fan, you may have watched the Gary Windass webisodes last year which showed his life while in Afghanistan. It was 3 5 minute shorts and showed his friend Quinny dying, which is why is his currently suffering from post-traumatic stress in the show. If you didn't see them, don't worry. Since they were so popular, ITV has announced they will be airing on ITV2 as a 30 minute special. It also show Izzy finding the camcorder and watching the footage. It airs on 31st January on ITV2.
Well since people have stopped going on about the whole baby swap drama, it's time for some new stuff. Patsy Palmer who plays loudmouth Bianca Jackson was rubbished rumors that she has quit the soap of the current storyline. She is currently on maternity leave after the birth of her 4th child and has every intention of returning to Eastenders when the time is right for her and the show. Her character goes to prison for attacking Connor Stanley.
A man who appeared on ITV's dating show Take Me Out has landed a role on Emmerdale. David Jeffrey was called in by the shows bosses after they saw him on the show and offered him a permanent role as a local who is seen regularly around the village. He starts filming in the spring. Weird.
Hollyoaks bosses have confirmed a number of cast that are departing the soap. The Sharpe family which include Gabby (Phina Oruche), Phil, (Andonis Anthony), Taylor (Shaun Blackstock) and Amber (Lydia Lloyd-Henry) have already left the soap and it is now confirmed they will not be returning. The family has brought in during Paul Marquess's reign on the soap. All storylines involving them were dropped and Amber's teen pregnancy was resolved offscreen. Also leaving the Oaks is Anita Roy (Saira Choudhry). Her nemesis Gaz's return prompts her to leave the village for good. Finally Rob O'Connor (Gary Cargill) will remain offscreen for the time being.
There's drama ahead for closeted gay couple Ste and Brendan when their secret relationship is revealed. Ste who is expecting a kid with girlfriend Rae, recently downplayed his previous passion with boss Brendan and convinced her he is not gay, but when the two find themselves drawn back together at work, Rae walks in on them. Uo-oh.
Neighbours has become Eleven's top rated show. The Australian soap has made the move from Ten to sister digital channel Eleven in the New Year because of dreadful ratings. I think it's really weird how more people here in the UK watch it more than people in Australia do. And when I say more, I mean alot more! It gets around 254,000 in Australia. In the UK it gets 2 million each episode. Crazy.
Neighbours is known for it's disasters, but now one has happened for real! A roof has collapsed on one of the sets! Luckily there was nobody hurt as the cast and crew were still on their annual Christmas break. Due to the damage, the set will be have to demolished and constructed again. Scary stuff, glad nobody was hurt!
