Welcome Back!

Hello 2011!

It's a new year and we hope you had an amazing time celebrating the start of it! I personally love celebrating new year because it gives you a chance to not only look back on what you've done for the past year, but look ahead to what's coming up. And speaking of what's coming up, let's fill you in on what's going with this blog!

Christmas Top of The Pops

14/10/10 - 21/11/10

1.(-)JLS - Love You More

2.(2)Take That - The Flood

3.(39)Ellie Goulding - Your Song

4.(1)Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World)

5.(3)Katy Perry - Firework

6.(-)Far East Movement - Like A G6

7.(11)Black Eyed Peas - The Time (Dirty Bit)

8.(5)Alexis Jordan - Happiness

9.(4)McFly - Shine A Light (ft. Taio Cruz)

10.(-)Westlife - Safe

JLS have gained their 4th UK number 1 and scored Children In Need their first 1 number charity single in a while! Good job. I previously posted Ellie Goulding's new song here today so I'm so pleased to see it chart so high. A new entry from Far East Movement and Westlife. Black Eyed peas have also entered the top 10 with their new single 'The Time'!

Obviously over in the albums chart, Take That are at the top after selling an amazing 520,000 copies in one week. Crazy!

Top of The Pops

14/10/10 - 21/11/10

1.(1)Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World)
2.(-)Take That - The Flood
3.(4)Katy Perry - Firework
4.(-)McFly - Party Girl
5.(3)Alexis Jordan - Happiness
6.(7)Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me
7.(2)Cheryl Cole - Promise This
8.(6)Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are
9.(19)Adele - Make You Feel My Love
10.(5)Cee Lo Green - F**k You

Rihanna was denied Take That their much anticipated number 1! I'm really surprised actually. It's a great song so I though it would have went top. Maybe the public actually want that chart battle with JLS and Westlife next week. McFly have landed at 4 with their come-back song 'Party Girl'. I really love it and it's done pretty well.

Another re-entry for Adele with 'Make You Feel My Love'. I don't even remember her releasing this the first time round!

Over in the album's chart, Britain's Got Talent Winner finalist Susan Boyle has stormed the chart with her second album.

Top of The Pops

7/10/10 - 14/11/10

1. (2)Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World)
2. (1)Cheryl Cole - Promise This
3. (-)Alexis Jordan - Happieness
4. (6)Katy Perry - Firework
5. (4)Cee Lo Green - F**k You
6. (3)Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are
7. (5)Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me
8. (8)Nelly - Just A Dream
9. (7)Duck Sauce - Barbara Streisand
10. (22)The Saturdays - Higher (featuring Flo Rida)

So Rihanna got her Number 1 after her battle with Cheryl last week. Good for her! Sadly as you can see The Saturdays have only got to number 10. To me that's disappointing. Obviously not to them according to their Twitter but that is an amazing song which deserved higher! (I think I meant that pun)

Over in the albums chart, obviously Cheryl Cole has stormed to the top with the second album, Messy Little Raindrops. Also Peter Andre managed to get to number 10.

Top of The Pops

31/10/10 - 7/11/10

1. (-)Cheryl Cole - Promise This
2. (-)Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World)
3. (1)Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are
4. (4)Cee Lo Green - F**k You
5. (6)Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me
6. (5)Katy Perry - Firework
7. (3)Duck Sauce - Barbara Streisand
8. (11)Nelly - Just A Dream
9. (2)The Wanted - Heart Vacancy
10. (8)Tinie Tempah - Written In The Stars (Featuring Eric Turner)

Wor Chezza has stormed to the top of the charts obviously and scored herself the fastest selling single of 2010 so far! Rihanna scored second place in the chart battle. Meanwhile no other new entries for the top 10 other than Nelly.

Over in the album charts, Kings of Leon have denied Joe McElderry a number 1, which is a shame. He settled for 3rd.

Top of The Pops

24/10/10 - 31/10/10

1. (2)Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are
2. (-)The Wanted - Heart Vacancy
3. (3)Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand
4. (1)Cee Lo Green - F**k You
5. (-)Katy Perry - Firework (No Video Yet)
6. (9)Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me
7. (4)Swedish House Mafia - Miami 2 Ibiza (featuring Tinie Tempah)
8. (8)Tinie Tempah - Written in the Stars (featuring Eric Turner)
9. (-)Jay Sean - 2012 (It Ain't The End) (featuring Nicki Minaj)
10. (-)N-Dubz - Best Behaviour

Bruno Mars is back to the top spot. Most likely to Matt Cardle's X Factor Performance of the song. Plenty of new entries. The Wanted storm into 2nd place with their 2nd single 'Heart Vacancy'. Odd times. It's a great song though. Another X Factor influence, Katy Perry landing at 5 without a video! I still can't over that I'm going to see her in person! (Screams).

Other new entries include Jay Sean with 2012 (I can't believe he made a song about it. it's nothing to be happy about really) and N-Dubz new single. The hype has died down for them now I think. All other singles were in the chart last week.

Over in the Albums Chart, Kings of Leon have scored the biggest selling album in it's first week of the year so far!

Top of The Pops

17/10/10 - 24/10/10

1. (1)Cee Lo Green - F**k You
2. (4)Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are
3. (-)Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand
4. (5)Swedish House Mafia - Miami 2 Ibiza (featuring Tinie Tempah)
5. (3)Tinie Tempah - Written in the Stars (featuring Eric Turner)
6. (-)Joe McElderry - Ambitions
7. (2)Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow - Shame
8. (6)Labrinth - Let The Sun Shine
9. (22)Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me
10. (18)Usher - DJ Got Us Fallin In Love (featuring Pitbull)

No change to Number 1, but Joe McElderry disappointedly made it to 6. I thought it would go higher! Not much change otherwise other than an re-entry for Usher.

What do you think? Did Joe deserve better?

Top of The Pops

10/10/10 - 17/10/10

1. (-)Cee Lo Green - F**k You
2. (-)Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow - Shame

3. (1)Tinie Tempah - Written in the Stars (featuring Eric Turner)
4. (2)Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are
5. (-)Swedish House Mafia - Miami 2 Ibiza (featuring Tinie Tempah)
6. (3)Labrinth - Let The Sun Shine
7. (-)Kings of Leon - Radioactive
8. (5)Taio Cruz - Dynamite
9. (6)Katy Perry - Teenage Dream
10. (8)Enrique Iglesias - Heartbeat (featuring Nicole Scherzinger)

Another new number 1! I haven't actually heard the song so I'm not going to give opinion on it. Robbie and Gary Barlow missed out on the number one spot too after a 12 year feud.

2 More new entries this week also. Both I haven't heard. I'm so behind the times. Other than that the chart remains unchanged. Until next week.

Top of The Pops

03/09/10 - 10/10/10

1. (-)Tinie Tempah - Written in the Stars (featuring Eric Turner)
2. (1)Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are
3. (-)Labrinth - Let The Sun Shine
4. (-)Adele - Make You Feel My Love
5. (2)Taio Cruz - Dynamite
6. (3)Katy Perry - Teenage Dream
7. (4)The Script - For The First Time
8. (13)Enrique Iglesias - Heartbeat (featuring Nicole Scherzinger)
9. (8)Katy B - Katy On A Mission
10. (1)Alexandra Burke - Start Without You

We have a new number one! I love this song and I did expect it to get to the top spot. This is Tinie's second number 1 and his debut album is released tomorrow!

We have a new entry and a re-entry this week. Labrinth who has collaborated with Tinie Tempah several times has entered at number 3 with his debut single. Meanwhile Adele has re-entered the chart at number 4 with 'Make You Feel My Love'. Originally released in 2008. It only got to 28! This will be because of it's extensive play on The X Factor last weekend.

The rest of the chart remains unchanged with the exception of a few movements. Alexandra Burke has took a mighty tumble from the top spot, barley clinging on in the top 10. But Enrique Iglesias and Nicole Scherzinger have managed to get into the top 10 with their amazing song! I expected it to get higher, but there's still time right?

And that's your lot.

Top of The Pops

26/09/10 - 03/10/10

1. (-)Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are
2. (2)Taio Cruz - Dynamite
3. (3)Katy Perry - Teenage Dream
4. (4)The Script - For The First Time
5. (1)Alexandra Burke - Start Without You
6. (6)Eminem - Love The Way You Lie (featuring Rihanna)
7. (-)Emma's Imagination - Focus
8. (8)Katy B - Katy On A Mission
9. (10)Shontelle - Impossible
10. (-)Alex Guadino - I'm In Love (I Wanna Do It)

Bruno Mars has stormed the chart this week with his debut song. It is a good song, but did you hear about his arrest? Bad boy. 2 other new entries include the winner of Must Be The Music's Emma's Imagination and Alex Guadino from the Ministry of Sound. Beside that, not much has changed another than Alexandra Burke dropping 4 places and Shontelle moving up 1.

Top of The Pops

Less chit chat, more music!

12/09/10 - 26/09/10

1. (-) Alexandra Burke - Start Without You
2. (2)Katy Perry - Teenage Dream
3. (3)Taio Cruz - Dynamite
4. (1)Olly Murs - Please Don't Let Me Go
5. (-)The Script - For The First Time
6. (-)McFly - Party Girl
7. (4)Eminem - Love The Way You Lie (featuring Rihanna)
8. (8)Katy B - Katy On A Mission
9. (5)Flo Rida - Club Can't handle Me (featuring David Guetta)
10. (-)Emma's Imagination - This Day

Yet again we have a new number 1! Alexandra Burke scores her 3rd number 1. While I do like this song, I feel like I shouldn't. It seems very odd for her but I'm sure she's happy right now. I expected McFly to get higher with their new song, which I really love. As you can see, at number 10 there's another new 'Must Be The Music' entry! That show seems to be making a big impact.

In other chart news, Brandon Flowers topped the album charts with his debut album 'Flamingo'. I have yet to hear any of it except his single 'Crossfire' so I can't pass judgement right now.

Top of The Pops

It's a bit late yes but never mind eh? Let's crack on!

05/09/10 - 12/09/10

1. Olly Murs - Please Don't Let Me Go

2. Katy Perry - Teenage Dream

3. Taio Cruz - Dynamite

4. Eminem - Love The Way You Lie (featuring Rihanna)

5. Flo Rida - Club Can't Handle Me (featuring David Guetta)

6. Roll Deep - Green Light

7. Pepper & Piano - You Took My Heart

8. Katy B - Katy On A Mission

9. Yolanda Be Cool VS DCup - We Speak No Americano

10. Travie McCoy - Billionaire (featuring Bruno Mars)

Not much of a change this week, but 3 new entries. The new Number 1, X Factor runner up Olly Murs with his debut single. Following him, is the lovely Katy Perry with the second single from her new album 'Teenage Dream'. The 3rd new entry is Pepper & Piano. This duo auditioned for Sky1's new talent show 'Must Be The Music' and they made into the charts. It's impressive and it's a great song too!
